players better than cristiano ronaldo

Posted 09-04-2008 at 01:30 PM by gr8-1
I think I've made my point in regards to thinking that Cris Ronaldo is not the best player in the world.

Unfortunately certain people find it unbelievable for me to think such a heinous thing. "How dare you", "I wish death upon you", " I'm gonna spit in your coffee" (well haha peasants im fasting, so no spitting on coffee.)

I've given my reasonings, the main one being he isn't much of a team player and his stats, -impressive as they are- are actually an over-inflation of his abilities and infact show how he is a "flat-track bully". I know people are going to throw the odd isolated goal vs a "big team" and i could very easily shoot each one down, but that would take forever. Point is Ronaldo isnt the same imposing figure in a game against Barcelona as he is against Newcastle. And before anyone throws the useless excuse of well he has many players marking him, don't you think messi has the same problems? I remember a few seasons back when we played Barcelona in the 2nd round of the champions league 2 seasons running. Ronaldinho had 3 or more players marking him (a defence that in 2005 conceded 15 goals in the league) yet still scored 2 special goals. (the one in 06 gets over-looked because of the 2005 goal).

Anyways point of this thread is, I will name players who I think are better than Cristiano Ronaldo. Retired players dont count cause otherwise it'd be too long a list. So here goes, in no particular order:

Lionel Messi:
Obviously. He is the true best player in the world.

Cesc Fabregas:
Obviously. He is the best player in the Premierleague. An elegance and class exuberates from Fabregas that Ronaldo could only dream of. Fabregas is a natural footballing genius.

Michael Ballack:
2nd best player in the premierleague. Single-handedly led an average Germany team to the final of euro 2008, without having to go on one man missions all the time. He managed to help his team-mates raise their game

Fernando Torres:
The 3rd best player in the Premierleague. A real team player. Torres sacrificed his game for Villa at Euro 2008. But in the final when Villa was out he stepped up and showed he can also bag the glory.

Deco:
Portugal's best player.

Gianluigi Buffon, Petr Cech, Iker Casillas:
The 3 best keepers in the world. All are better goalkeepers than Ronaldo is an outfield player. (just thought I'd get the keepers out of the way)

Thierry Henry:
One of the best players the Premierleague has seen. At his best his stats dwarfed Ronaldo's, he did it more than 1 season, he got assists to prove its possible to score many goals and still assist team-mates. Plus he could do it against the bigger teams.

Ronaldinho:
Hasn't been at his best for a couple of seasons, but when he was the best he was the absolute best. He gave memorable performances and scored great goals against the likes of Chelsea, AC Milan, Real Madrid.

Ronaldo:
Is the original, real mccoy. Accept no imitations. Ronaldo was once the world's most lethal player.

Obviously there are many other players, (Gerrard, a few defenders, Robben, Sneijder, Scholes, Drogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovich, Totti etc) who I rate higher than Cristiano Ronaldo. I'm not gonna go into detail, I think the list above suffices.

Again this is only my opinion, there are people out there who would happily lap up Ronaldo's farts and thats up to them. I can understand why some people would consider him the world's best and be amazed by his undoubted skill.

But again for me it takes more than a stepover and some over-inflated stats to make the best player in the world, (in my opinion)

This is a World Cup and in the morning, meaning no trapped in Spain after winning in celebration of flashbacks scenes. Although few goals, often tedious, can I still miss involuntarily group. At that time, was in a style, no one left, alive, are hard, all has the show was a mystery, let your curiosity and excited to guess, No one moved, like all my childhood was happy, sad part. However, we will grow, as the group will end, entered the knockout, like the adult world is cruel, only to win, so cruel, but also so fierce, let a person cannot bear the but again. But the final like? Old age? But as already to leave the glorious moment.

A World Cup, is a life, the same is irreversible and full of stories, different feeling, the World Cup is on the surface of the comedy, and life. But there is a big different, the World Cup, four years in our life, there are a lot of, can wait to finish. It's interesting that life often many games, to really make people feel dolorous, but life is dull and heavy, some itself. So, the World Cup, absolutely for the artificial game, but most truly happy to give fans and comfort. Although the time adjustable from South Africa to Beijing, will be hard, like two days before midnight, I didn't wake up at will. But except for, what more can I say? The World Cup ended the game, we started again, you and I are living on each of the athletes, refueled! And sincerely for the past month, you in my words to you in advance of the meeting. Said, wish you are moving in his World Cup well on all!
