Two out of three ain’t bad

Fulham’s three-man manager short-list has an impressive look about it. Well, at least until you get down to Sven-Goran Eriksson.

The Cottagers are still on the lookout for a new boss to replace Roy Hodgson, who took over the reins at Liverpool at the start of the month.

Those wanting to place a football bet on who their new manager will be should not that Eriksson is believed to be on the short-list with United States head coach Bob Bradley and Switzerland's Ottmar Hitzfeld also in the running.

Eriksson, as ever distanced himself from claims he was about to take the post earlier in the week when he revealed he was considering an offer to extend his contract as Ivory Coast head coach. And that would be the best scenario for Fulham fans because Eriksson’s arrival at the Cottage would be disastrous.

The Swede’s reputation has been in decline ever since he departed the England job. The man, who recently had a woeful spell as boss of Mexico, started last season on board at Notts County and ended the season at the World Cup with the Ivory Coast.

There’s no doubt all Hodgson’s good work would be ruined if Eriksson got his hands on the Cottagers and the chances of seeing out the season, if he was appointed, would be very slim anyway.

Meanwhile, Hitzfeld has a proven track record at Bayern Munich and Bradley has done a magnificent job with the US. Bradley has moulded the USA into a top side and their FIFA ranking of 13th reflects their steady rise.

He deserves a chance in the top flight and would be a perfect fit for progressive Fulham team that Premier League Betting expects to be in and around the top ten again this season.

Sven would be a bad choice - he wouldn't stick around. Can I lay bet Sven to Fulham at your bookies?
