BORDEAUX, August 25 (Ligue 1) - David Bellion scored two, missed a penalty and had a goal disallowed as Bordeaux were held to a draw by unbeaten Lorient on Saturday.

The former Manchester United striker made it four goals in five games with a well-taken brace but was pegged back both times, first by Rafik Saifi and then one minute from time by Hamed Namouchi.

The result leaves the Brittany club two points off early Ligue 1 leaders Nancy, with Bordeaux three points further back.

Bellion opened the scoring in the 11th minute when he directed Alejandro Alonso's cross home from the right-hand side of the penalty area.

Lorient pulled level just four minutes later though, Saifi finding the back of the net after being set up by Marama Vahirua. The goal looked offside but was allowed by the referee, much to the chagrin of the indignant Bordeaux faithful.

After Namouchi forced a save in the 27th minute, Bellion was denied a second goal when his strike was ruled out on the stroke of half-time.

Nine minutes into the second period Namouchi hit a shot from 30 yards which just skimmed over the crossbar.

Two minutes later Jeremy Morel brought down Silva Wendell inside the area, but again Bellion was prevented from notching up a second as he missed the resulting spot-kick.

He finally completed his brace in the 68th minute, Fernando Menegazzo receiving a long ball from Marouane Chamakh and laying off to Bellion, who slotted home from six yards out.

He almost turned provider 10 minutes from time when he cut the ball back to Alonso, but his shot was blocked by the defence.

Bellion had been at the heart of much of Bordeaux's play but five minutes after he was subbed Lorient grabbed a last-minute equaliser, Namouchi capitalising after Marc Planus failed to clear.
