PARIS, August 26 (Ligue 1) - Paris St Germain are still without a Ligue 1 win despite clawing a last-gasp equaliser against Lille on Sunday.
Lille went ahead through Jean Makoun's 43rd minute opener, but they failed to convert several gilt-edged chances, and after being let off when Pedro Pauleta's penalty was saved, they were undone three minutes from time, Pierre Alain-Frau grabbing a draw.
PSG, still looking to put last season's disappointing campaign behind them, attacked early and after a neat one-two with Jeremy Clement, Pauleta hit a half-volley which required a smart save from Tony Sylva, diving down to his left.
After Bernard Mendy and Ludovic Obraniak had seen efforts saved at either end of the pitch, Lille took the lead two minutes from the break.
From a free-kick on the right wing the PSG defence could only head the ball straight up in the air, and when it came back down, Makoun out-jumped Didier Digard to head home.
Six minutes into the second period Lille could have made it 2-0 when Stephane Dumont was left totally unmarked in the area when Yohan Cabaye crossed in, but he somehow contrived to send his header wide of the open goal.
PSG did not deserve to be level and certainly there was an element of doubt over their penalty, awarded when substitute striker Amara Diane went down under an seemingly innocuous tussle in the box. But justice was done as Sylva guessed the right way and saved.
The Parisians were proving to be their own undoing though and in the 73rd minute Mendy foolishly attempted to head the ball back to his goalkeeper, only for Kevin Mirallas to intercept, but he blazed wide.
And Lille were made to pay for their profligacy three minutes from time when Jeremy Clement's persistence won him the ball 20 yards out, from where he fed Frau who finished coolly.
